College Major & Career Consulting
Exploration is key for young people as they begin to understand career pathways they would like to pursue. This meaningful consultation helps to kick-start this process!

College Major Meeting
There are several reasons why a family would be interested in helping their young person discover reasonable and right-fit college majors prior to college application. There are strong implications that understanding which majors more closely match a student’s interests and goals will ultimately save time and money in regards to timely graduation and attending a college that meets the student’s needs. With the rising cost of a college education, this is certainly worth considering.
More importantly, beginning this process in high school is also developmentally appropriate.
Utilizing the MBTI (which does not change over time) with the Strong Interest Inventory and a 2 hour meeting, we help each student develop a wheelhouse of appropriate college majors and career options. It is extremely rare for a student to initially match a single pathway. More commonly, after assessing the student’s comprehensive profile, we are able to make recommendations for further relevant exploration including job shadowing, summer workshops, pre-college programs, extra-curricular activities, curriculum choices/changes, etc. The key is taking a world of options and honing them into a personalized and manageable place for development and understanding. Beginning this process provides motivation and confidence for the student and ultimately equips them for growth for continued decision making regarding career and interest choices.
