Are you wondering how class choices and extra-curricular activities could impact college admissions and/or scholarships in the future?  High school is an exciting time for students to learn what they like and what they don’t like, but it is also an important time to develop skills needed for college and career readiness. It is also a great time to develop study skills and leadership skills. High school today provides students with a broad range of choices- both in and out of the classroom.  We use an introductory tool called iStart Strong to explore possible interests along with our experience to provide recommendations.

Taking into consideration the goals and the unique set of skills and interests of your student, we develop a full tentative custom four-year plan, including: course options, a testing plan, extra-curricular options, leadership options, career interest appropriate for the goals set. Leave with a strong understanding of college admissions expectations and a plan to move your student towards their goals. There is always plenty of time to answer your questions.

Timeline

This appointment is appropriate for students beginning in grade 8 as they explore options for high school, but also for 9th and 10th graders. This is a one-time appointment that can be followed up annually until it is developmentally more appropriate to explore more concrete career options through our College Major and Career Meeting.
